Dater Montessori Renovation Project

Are you wondering what is going on with the design and renovation process of Dater's existing building on Boudinot Avenue? You've come to the right place.

The Dater Montessori Design Team is made up of local architects, Glaserworks, along with a group of Dater administrative staff, teachers, support staff and parents. This process consists of several design phases, including Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Document Design. The Schematic Design phase of the project has been approved by the CPS School Board. We were among the first Segment 3 schools to be approved through Schematic Design!

We are now in the Design Development Phase of the project. During this phase the Design Team will further refine the layout and features of the classrooms, specials and administrative areas. The architects and consultants will also narrow the selection and design of the materials, features and mechanical systems that will be incorporated in our new school.

Update from Glaserworks on March 31st. Click Here to view.

Green Building Design

Dater's LSDMC has contacted CPS to inform them that we are interested in achieving LEED Silver certification for the Dater Montessori Renovation Project. Achieving this goal would make Dater the first LEED Silver certified renovated school in Ohio.

What is LEED®?

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
